The Poplar Bluff Housing Authority (PBHA) has prepared a proposed revised public housing lease. Before PBHA adopts it, residents, resident organizations, and members of the public are invited to review the proposed lease and submit written comments.
This is a draft. The proposed lease is labeled “Proposed Lease – For Review and Comment” and is not in effect. Your current lease stays in effect until PBHA completes its review and formally adopts a revised lease.
Comment Period: Thursday, October 29, 2026, through Monday, November 30, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. Central Time
All comments must be received by the closing date and time.
Summary of Proposed Changes:
- Returned payment fee: The fee for a returned payment would increase to $30. PBHA’s online rent payment system, currently Engage Pay, charges PBHA $30 for every insufficient-funds or denied payment. The $25 late rent fee does not change.
- Pets: The lease would also prohibit visiting pets, pet sitting, and feeding stray animals on PBHA property.
- Your home and shared spaces: The lease would name trampolines, bounce houses, and water slides as items that may not be set up on PBHA property.
- Safety and respect: The lease would prohibit bullying, threats, and harassment, and would clearly prohibit marijuana and drug paraphernalia on PBHA property, consistent with federal law.
