Deputy Director
The Poplar Bluff Housing Authority is conducting a search for a deputy director. This is highly responsible administrative and professional-level work. The Deputy Director is responsible for assisting the executive director in the overall administration and management of the Poplar Bluff Housing Authority. The position reports directly to the Executive Director in the management of a comprehensive housing program serving more than 1,000 residents with 575 HUD-assisted residential housing units. Activities associated with the position require the exercise of independent judgment and initiative and the application of extensive knowledge of the requirements governing Public Housing programs and procedures. Supervision is exercised over a group of administrative and maintenance personnel who have functional responsibility over daily housing authority operations. The minimum requirements for the position are a four (4) year college degree in Business, Public Administration, or a related field. Five (5) years of responsible managerial experience in public housing or five (5) years of responsible administrative experience in a closely related field.
